Hey guess what, we're making a commercial.
We is my partner Grant, our producer Matt, and I.
The way it works is, we find three potential directors. We tell them the idea. They think about it for a few days. Then they make a fancy presentation of how they see the whole thing happening and how much it'll cost and how many extras we can have in it and all that jazz.
Then we pick our most favoritest one and we call them up and we tell them that they are going to make a lot of money. And everyone is happy.
Today, we picked our director and we called them up and we told them.
And then we did this.

Grant, Serifcan (pronounced Sheriff John) and I started this game at work called Dead Dog.
Grant draws a picture of a dead dog, and we add something to it that brings it back to life.
Just like in real life, Grant kills and we revive.
It's hours of unproductive fun.
Today, we did a quick one during a conference call. We're so mature.
Usually there's a reason for the dog's death (like an arrow in the head or it's sawed in half) so it's more challenging.
There was one awesome one where it was a head being chopped on a guillotine and we added a body and a cigarette to the dog as if it was just chillin, smoking a cigarette, reclined against the guillotine. No big whoop.
But I didn't think about taking photos until today and I threw them out.
You will just have to wait until new ones, little ones.

This is one of my most favoritest from my collection since I used to be a dorky gymnast who wore gymnastics shirts to school every day of the week. I think I'll bring that back, except that instead of school, it will be me alone in my apartment since that's what I do now. One of the coolest shirts I had had a picture of a girl doing a leap with a basketball, soccer ball, baseball, and football crossed out all around her and it said "You don't need balls, to be a great athlete." I remember thinking that was the best when I was 11 because it had the word "balls" on it. I guess I've always been this cool. Speaking of cool, this Swatch has Nadia Comaneci on it who was the first gymnast to ever get a perfect ten in the Olympics. On the bars, my always and forever favorite event, and in Montreal. This Swatch is a tribute to that little fact. It says 1.00 instead of 10.00 because the scoreboards weren't even equipped to display ten's. So rad.

The Best Club on Earth

I forgot to tell some of you's that I got another job that pays no money and I love it!
I still have my Sid Lee job, but I'm also officially the head writer of the Underdog Club.

I basically get to write about old, ugly and unpopular dogs. These dogs are homeless and currently being fostered by nice people around the city so we basically promote them and create fun events where we bring the dogs together in one place so people can meet them and then hopefully adopt them. We have a gallery space where all this fun happens. Sadly, we ain't got the funds to pay for the space so we may be losing it soon. Then we'll be the homeless ones. If you want to dish out some little or big bucks, go to the site. And thanks.
Yesterday, Colin, Nicole and I took Katie and Doug to the "Did Somebody Say Cheese?" event to get Holiday portraits taken in exchange for a donation.

Yesterday at work, Gay-F received a record he ordered from some company in Gainesville, Florida. Since Dan lived there for like 6 years, we thought it would be funny to make him think it was for him. And since he decided to go for like a two hour lunch yesterday, we had plenty of time to make it happen.For some obnoxious reason, both Gay-F and Dan got the world's most serious phonecalls when Dan finally began to open it so I was left to giggle like a fool all by myself.

Beeteedubs, did I ever tell you about the time my friend and I spent the entire flight from Arkansas to Florida sitting next to Lil Wayne and making him prove to us that he was in fact the guy in the album cover I was holding in my hand?
This was like 10 years ago. I think the album was "Tha Block is Hot" and I had no idea who he was. Another girl who loved him was also on the trip with us and had told us.
I remember asking him things like "If this is really you, then why aren't you in first class?" and "There's no tear drop tattoo in this picture".
(He said he got a last minute flight and he got the tattoo after.)
I still didn't believe him so I reached over and touched his "fur" coat (which he wore throughout the entire flight) and said "This isn't even real".
I think he found the entire ordeal pretty entertaining. I mean who wouldn't think that's the most fun in the world?

Miranda Nature Camp

I'm going to France this winter.
Doug's too fat to come along so that's not an option.
I remember hearing about "Miranda Nature Camp" when Butt left Leroy there while on vacation a while back.
MNC was born and has since gained quite a following from the canine community.
If you've read this blog before you know the Miranda's are one of the coolest family's on this here planet. They have chickens, hello. Earth to you.
You can probably imagine how magical this place is.
Actually, you don't need to, here's a picture from the summer '08 session of Leroy enjoying the facilities.As you probably guessed by now, Douglas Yancey Funnie will be attending the Winter 09-10 session. He was accepted after the following e-mail registration exchange took place.

MNC staff had its final camper admissions meeting last night and we would like to officially invite Douglas Yancey to camp for the Winter 09/10 season. We know he will be a great asset to our already prestigious roster. Not to toot our own horn, but we have had some very special campers in the past (Walker T. and Leroy Kaplan just to name a few) so you should feel extremely proud of your son. The following are rules and procedures we have established to ensure a fun and safe season at Miranda Nature Camp.

Here is the information requested:

1. Please send your camper with:

a. his favorite toy from home

b. a picture of his mother and/or father

c. his favorite food

2. Please provide a list of non-standard food items that your camper CANNOT consume. We take field trips to a canine bakery and we must ensure food safety among our campers.

Chocolate, excessive amounts of dairy, rodents, rabid animals, other people's lunch

3. Please provide us with your address (email or postal service) so that you may receives letters from your camper as well as the PawPad (our MNC weekly bulletin).

He loves "em! Especially roasted.

5. Food packages are unnecessary, though they are allowed. Campers will visit the canteen twice per week where they may purchase both food and toy items.

6. Please send your camper with a carrier for train trips into New York City.

Um, OK. Does he have to be able to fit in this carrier? That may be a problem.

7. If your camper is prone to vomiting when he plays too hard, that's not cool. But as our oldest camper, Chief, is prone to pooing all over camp grounds during thunderstorms, Manny, our head boys counselor, doubles as clean-up crew and will also mop up vomit. However, after two such occurrences, we do not clean the vomit and instead require the camper to eat it for dinner, thus ensuring his understanding of the crime=punishment procedure.

I'm down with your policy and I'm sure Douglas will be too. He's a big fan of vomiting and then eating it. He likes it so much he purposely plays too hard until he pukes and can enjoy his meal all over again.

We are pleased to have Douglas at camp this season and can't wait to see him again/meet him! Please provide us with your complete itinerary when it is available.

Canadian Thanksgiving

One of the one good thing about living in Canada is getting to celebrate Thanksgiving twice.
This past weekend I had a potluck dinner with some work/life friends/partners.
The food was surreal. The turkey was so moist and delicious.
(I got to carve it and discovered my new talent.)
And there was a fantastic cheese plate for after dessert dessert which I literally had to shove into my mouth because I was so full.
But I had to show these Canucks how it's done over in America, the happiest place on Earth.After we ate we thought it was a really good idea to jump on the bed and take air-bound pictures. We got really into it.
It got a little out of control which is always fun.

First of all, sorry for that last post. I don't know what happe-PAJAMAS!
Ok, I'm done.
I've been taking a painting class with some pals (Maura, Vince, and JK, aka Just Kidding. That's his name, Just Kidding. I'm not kidding. No. You don't get it. His name is actually Just Kidding. For real. Whatever. Have it your way.)
We've mostly been doing still-life's, which I've learned to love.
Last week we painted from a picture, which I'll show you another day because the pictures I have of it are really bad.
We also did a live, nude model but I missed it because I was sick. I'm pretty bummed because I heard his penis was really tiny. Like, invisible to the naked eye. (Is that even a pun?)
Anyway, last night my friend GabUSA came over to paint for fun and I decided to paint a miniature still-life from the miniature food I collect. (I've been thinking about doing this for our final exhibit. We have one.)
It was obviously fun but way harder than I thought.
Painting really small is totally different. When I'm painting bigger, I'm more carefree, I don't worry as much about each individual stroke. With the smaller stuff, I couldn't really do that because each tiny move is so dramatic. The tip of the brush was basically the size of a maki.
Which goes to show that the materials are also more important. For example, it's really hard to make small highlights and with a big brush.
Anyway, I think the concept of miniature still-life's is cool, but at the same time, I think the viewer needs to know it's a miniature to appreciate it. I think there's a clever way of doing this. Like what if I incorporated a normal-size hand moving an object in the still-life, or painted a matchstick or penny in the actual painting? (Too cliché?) Anyway, I'll keep thinking about it because I think something interesting/funny (at least to me) could come out of it. I'll show you when I figure it out/feel like it.

Miracle Bunny Moment

I never ever ever post YouTube videos on here that have nothing to do with me or my friends or my imaginary friends. But I'm making an exception with this one because I am quite crazy like that and unpredictable. Pajamas! See, you had no idea I was going to say pajamas, I'm crazyyyyy!
Actually, I'm not obsessed with the entire video, just a little tiny snippet. It starts at second 20, where the little girl goes to pet the bunny.
Just watch it and you'll see. Actually, you'll probably just think I'm psychotic and will want to put me in "a home" but watch it anyway.

And now, watch it over and over again until your eyes bleed tears of happiness. Or I guess blood isn't really happy, um, until your eyes create sweet candy that stays chewy forever and tastes like grape. Ok, this is stupid.
Anyway, let's talk about that magical video.
Watch how adorable that little girl is!!! How slowly (and with much effort) she walks over to the little bunny just to pet his little tush, and how quickly he scurries away. But not only that! She doesn't really even mind. She can't! She's too busy trying to fix her shoe that flipped over, did you see??? It's the most magical occurrence of all time!!!! Watch how patiently she just flips it back. And with no complaints at all! She doesn't even mind that the little bunny ran away!!! Ugh, I can't stop watching it. I know her little cameo ends there (wait does it? I was too excited to even finish watching the video) but I'm sure she walked right back to that bunny and did it all over again. Minus the shoe flip, of course, 'cause it's way too amazing for that happen twice. I need a drink. Actually I just wanted to say that 'cause it's a cool way to end an epic moment.

Not only that, but they were on MTV, the epitome of cool.
Not only that that, but they were on the VMA's which are on MTV, the epitome of the epitome of cool.
Not only that that that, but they performed with Taylor Swift* at the VMA's which are on MTV, the epitome of the epitome of the epitome of cool.
Basically, my friends are the infinity epitome of coolness. It would probably burn your eyes just to look at them.

In case you forgot, my sister is the coolest.
She's currently living at home and getting her real estate license so she can work with my mom.
Basically, she's living my dream of being 12 forever.

Yesterday she went out with a client to show him some properties in a Miami sky rise.
In the lobby there was a scale model of the building, complete with little people, trees, cars, etc.
She couldn't resist.
She makes me proud.

I got a bike and immediately I became obsessed with it and overly posessive of it. It always happens like that with modes of transport. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because you knowingly become dependent on them. And every time you use them, you can genuinely appreciate their existence. I imagine a lot of people feel that way about their dishwashers. But maybe that's because I don't have a dishwasher. And every time I'm washing dishes, I wish I could be riding my bike.
